Biblical advice for dating
Non-Christians have a different perspective on dating.
You see the magazines, TV shows, and movies that tell you how you’re young, and you should date a lot of people before you get married.
However, even among Christians, there are differences as to whether you should or should not date.
The choice is up to you and your parents, but Christian teens should still know God’s perspective on dating.
When we start dating, however, it’s common for many of us to slowly channel the energy that we’ve been investing in our relationship with Him into our newfound love.
But Jesus isn’t our relational back-up plan, someone we put first until someone better comes along.
" Amos 3:3, NKJV says, "Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?
As a practical matter, are you responsible and holy in the way you possess your own spirit, mind and body?
As you move into the stage of life in which you begin to seriously consider marriage generally or a particular relationship, your first step should be to soberly reflect, before God, on your own spiritual walk and maturity in Christ.
There are all kinds of advice out there about dating today, but a lot of it is about dating in the world rather than Christian dating.
Christians need to have a different attitude toward dating.
This is not a list where it’s all or nothing—that is, in order to be a disciple, all of these ideas need to be in place.
